I grew up in East Tennessee graduating from The University of Tennessee in 1970. I spent 22 plus years in the United States Army and Air Force from which I retired in 1990.

I attended law School at University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. I graduated in June 1984. I passed the bar exam on my first attempt and was sworn in as an attorney in December 1984 to the California State Bar and the Federal Eastern District of California.

I am a member of the California State Bar, San Joaquin County Bar Association, San Joaquin County Bar Association Referral Service for major felonies and California Public Defenders Association.
